Hemlock Valley Volunteer Fire Department

In the event of an emergency, call 911

For a medical emergency, request Hemlock Valley Fire first. We're in the village and here to help in minutes.

Community Safety

Our volunteers serve Hemlock citizens and visitors with emergency responses to fire suppression, medical aid and motor vehicle incidents.

For the latest information on current wildfire activity, burning restrictions, road closures and air quality advisories, visit the BC Wildfire Service.

First Responders

More than a fire service, our members are professionally trained, certified and licensed First-Responders.

Alertable is an emergency notification system that enables the FVRD to send alerts to residents, businesses, and visitors during critical events.

How to apply:

    1. Download and print the membership application form. Fill in the form and mail or drop off in person to the FVRD office in Chilliwack.

    3. Obtain a driver’s abstract from ICBC. Or call; 1-800-950-1498. You can request they fax the abstract to FVRD at 604-702-5480
    4. You will receive a phone call and/or email once you’ve been approved. Check with the Fire Chief or Deputy Chief periodically, as you may be able to attend training sessions while awaiting final approval.
    5. Once you have been approved you will be required to fill in a members information form and submit it to the FVRD for Work Safe BC and Medical coverage.
